As The Art World Expands

Well First of all, I notice that this particular handout is pretty long and copied from a book- which tell me that Malena found it somewhere and thought that it would be interesting enough to make all these copies for us... I am intrigued.....

As I scan the first page I start reading about the project with the largely painted triptych which I just learned yesterday taht a triptych is a set of three panels or compartments side by side, bearing pictures, carvings, and was orignally created to have a place of worship and dawned with religious symbolism.
This article discusses contemporary artworld from 1980- as I read through this handout I can't help but wonder what the art world is going to be like in 20 years or even 50 years? I mean the things artists come up with today are so authentic and visual stimualting, and what some people call unorthodox. Are the works of art of today going to be considered boring like many of the realism paintings of the 17th century? I can't ever imagine thinking the Spiral Jetty is boring, and not creative. Will artists push the envelop so much that things we consider to be absurd today, will eventually become accepted in art in the future?
