I dont know what I would do with out today's class. I had NO IDEA how to work this blogger thing. Jason was very helpful- even though he got off to a rough start. I was also pleased he came because I have been dying to meet someone in the graphic design department. It is what I am interested in concentrating in. Today's lecture was once again very different than regular art classes, but I guess i sohuld get use to that. I love how you realistically described the world of art, and how things work in today's culture. You mentioned starting a creative journal and I am a true believer in that! Some creative ideas althoguh great may slip out of you head and this is a great way to keep track. And also how artists' can't procratinate- in which I usally have a problem with, I learned this over studio at summer school. I would procrastinate every project and my work did suffer. I am gratefu that you gave us so many resources in which to get our pieces out there. My long term goal is to eventually work in a Graphic Design/ Advertising firm, but for now since Im in school I have to build up my porfolio and that artdeadlines website seems like a great place to get your self out there. I learned alot of new terms which was very interesting such as Guerilla- I would ike to do something like the statue in the major's yard that you discussed. Maybe not to that extreme but something that makes a statement that may not necessarily be legal! I am excited to see McColl Center on Wednesday. I've never been to an art residency before. It should be very influential!
